Cătălina commune is situated in the eastern part of Covasna county in the right part of the Black River – in the middle of the Three Chairs Basin.
The next town is Targu Secuiesc, situated at 4 km distance from the commune and at 40 km distance from Sfântu Gheorghe, the center of the county, and 17 km from Covasna.
